Essential Question:
This experiment begins with 100 radioactive particles.
Each has probability of decaying of 1/6 at each trail (time period).
Run the simualtion and describe the random behavior
using the words
Independent event, Compound
Events, Multiplication law, Exponential decay.
What is the formula for the expected number
of particles surviving at the nth trail? Add a formula, data and
a line graph to the experimental data shown, giving the predictions
from your theoretical model. Also add a horizontal line to the
graph that helps you to find an estimate of the half-life of the
original 100 particles.
UNFORTUNATELY, this spreadsheet is about 2.5 MB, possibly due to the high
number of links and conditional formatting I've used. So be prepared for a
long download time! ALTERNATIVELY, you can download a much smaller ZIPPED
version of the file here.
